Pasolini Gianluca
tenore

Gianluca Pasolini, a native of Riccione (RN), Italy, got an early start in his career as tenor by winning the vocal competition Avviamento all'Opera Città di Cesena in 1995 and then a scholarship in 1996 from the Associazione Internazionale per le Iniziative Liriche di Forlì.

His operatic debut in 1997 in La scala di seta at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, was soon followed by Mozart's Der Schauspieldirektor. In the same theatre he debuted in the role of Conte d'Almaviva in Paisiello's Il Barbiere di Siviglia in 1999.

His special interest in sacred music began in 1997, when he did a live recording of Schubert's G Missa D 167. He appeared in Salzburg in 1999 in Mozart?s Krönungsmesse di Mozart, and sang in various performances of Händel's Messiah in Italy and of Rossini?s Petite messe solennelle, in both the original and revised versions in Bologna, Florence and Aosta.

During 2000 Gianluca Pasolini was the winner of several prizes and awards; among them, the scholarship from the C.C.B.C.S. Zucchelli of Bologna. His interest in early opera has taken him to debut in Monteverdi's Il ritorno di Ulisse in patria during the official celebrations of Bologna 2000- European Capital of Culture, followed by a tour to Vancouver and Los Angeles.

In 2001 he took part in the Verdi celebrations in Ravenna and New York, and sang in Canada with Il Ruggiero, Modern Baroque Opera Company, Early Music, UBC Opera Ensemble, Pacific Baroque Orchestra. He has subsequently toured Il ritorno di Ulisse in patria to Marsiglia and Monaco and performed in a concert with the Orchestra Sinfonica and the Coro del Friuli Venezia Giulia (Mozart's Requiem).

Gianluca Pasolini opened the current season debuting on the stage of the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Gianni Schicchi (Rinuccio cover, Gherardo) and Pulcinella.
