| Born in Adana (Turkey) in 1968, she made her singing and piano studies at the University of Hacettepe and at the Academy of Music in Ankara, where she graduated in 1990. In 1991 she made her debut at the ORF (Austrian Radio) as Königin der Nacht in "Zauberflöte", Olympia in "Les contes d' Hoffmann"and "Lucia di Lammermoor". In the same year she has been invited in Reykjavik for a new production of "Zauberflöte". In this role she confirmed to be an extraordinary performer also in Vienna, both at the Staatsoper and at the Volksoper, in Mannheim, Essen, Dusseldorf, Graz, at the Opera Bastille in Paris, at Munchen Staatsoper, at Strasbourg Festival, at "Mozart in Schonbrunn" Festival with Wiener Kammeroper, at Milan's La Scala under Riccardo Muti, at Hamburg and Wiener Staatsoper, at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. In Wien she made her debut also in "Hänsel und Gretel", "Arabella", "Capriccio", "Zauberflöte" and "Siegfried". In 1994 she made her debut in Italy with a new production of "Zauberflöte" at the Teatro Regio in Turin followed by "Lucia di Lammermoor" under M0 Bruno Bartoletti at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, later sung in Japan, Tel Aviv and Haifa under M0 Zubin Mehta. She opened in 1995 La Zarzuela Theatre of Madrid in Stravinski's "Le Rossignol", and then she has sung "Rigoletto" in Japan in concert form, with the RAI orchestra of Turin. She has sung in concerts in Ankara and Istanbul, Zurich and Basel, and in a tour with the Orchestra della Toscana under M0 Peter Maag. She came back in La Scala with the world premiere of Luciano Beno's "Outis", made her debut in "I Puritani" in Tenerife, before partecipating at the "Christmas Concert" at the A.B.A.O. in Bilbao, sang again "Zauberflöte" in Wien. Among her next engagements are " Zauberflöte" in Bilbao , "Lucia di Lammermoor" in Florence and a tour of Donizetti concerts. |
