| His guest appearances have been taking the tenor Udo Holdorf to the @international opera houses as Amsterdam, Athens, Bordeaux, Dresden, @Frankfurt, Helsinki, London, Munich, Stockholm, Tokio,... and to festivals such as Bayreuth or Salzburg, just to mention some of them, for many years @now. His repertoire includes roles as HERODES, which he has sung for example @in Bologna, Buenos Aires, Hannover, Köln, Prague, Reggia Emilia, Rio de @Janeiro, Rouen, Toulon, Toulouse, Trieste, Valencia and Venice. The intensive character actor works together with famous directors such as Willy Decker (for example Hauptmann in Wozzeck), Alfred Kirchner, Nikolaus Lehnhoff, Piere Luigi Pzzi, David Pountney, (the sergeant in The Nose from Schostakowitsch ), Zoltan Szabo (Schuisky in Boris Godunov), Peter Zadek as well as conductor personalities such as James Conlon, Heinz Fricke, Hartmut Haenchen, Fabio Luisi, Michel Plasson, Friedrich Pleyer, Sir John Pritchard, Peter Schneider, Horst Stein, Hans Wallat, Ralf Weikert... Numerous concert appearances took Udo Holdorf to the Gürzenich Ochestra Köln, the Radio Symphony Orchestra Köln, the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, the Norddeutsche Philharmonie, and many others. Udo Holdorf studied at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik , Köln a.o. @with Prof. Metternich. First permanent engagements brought him to Bonn @and Würzburg. Notwithstanding his numerous obligations as a guest singer, the tenor Holdorf is member of the ensemble of the Rheinoper Düsseldorf, where one @can hear him regularly. For example as THE WHITCH in Hänsel and Gretel, LOGE in the Ring, HERODES in Salome, AEGISTH in Elektra, 1. GEHARNISCHTER in Zauberflöte, VITEK in Vec Makropolus... In June 2001 he will make his debut, right here, as BACCHUS in Ariadne at Naxos. Moreover at the season 2000/2001 he will sing the OEDIPUS REX from Stravinsky in the Teatro Plato, Argentina and the AEGISTH in Elektra at Bordeaux. The same part, he is going to perform at Liege in March 2002. |
