| The soprano Luba Orgonasova studied first in her native Bratislava, appearing first at the Opera there, and thereafter in Prague and Berlin, before joining Hagen Opera in 1989 and thereafter taking an engagement with the Vienna Volksoper. She made her début as Pamina at the Aix-en-Provence Festival, in a production that was televised and recorded and made her Vienna State Opera début in the same role, appearing as Marcellina at the Salzburg Festival and as Constanze in Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail in Paris, Berlin, Lisbon, Stuttgart, London and Amsterdam, in the last at the 1991 Holland Festival with John Eliot Gardiner and The English Baroque Soloists. In addition to her international engagements in major opera-houses throughout Europe and abroad, Luba Orgonasova also enjoys s distinguished career in the concert-hall. |
