Frank Lopardo's engagements this season include Rodolfo in 'La Bohème', Edgardo in 'Lucia di Lammermoor', and the Duke in 'Rigoletto' at the Met, Rodolfo at Paris' Bastille Opera, Nemorino in 'L'Elisir d'Amore' at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and the Duke at the Los Angeles Opera. The New York City native joined the Met as Almaviva in 'Il Barbiere di Siviglia' in 1989, and has since appeared here as Ferrando in Così fan tutte', Fenton in 'Falstaff', Idreno in 'Semiramide', Tamino in 'Die Zauberflöte', Tonio in 'La Fille du Régiment', Alfredo in 'La Traviata', Don Ottavio in 'Don Giovanni', Nemorino, and the Duke. Recent engagements include Edgardo last season for his Los Angeles Opera debut, Lenski in 'Eugene Onegin' and Edgardo with the Bastille Opera, Don Ottavio at La Scala and in San Francisco and Chicago, and Alfredo with the Vienna State Opera, Bavarian State Opera, and at the Salzburg Festival and Covent Garden. |
