| Born in Pescara, he began his music and singing studies at the Pescara Academy of Music with Maestra M. Vittoria Romano. At present he is continuing them with Maestro P. Venturi. In 1989 and 1991 he won the 'Toti dal Monte' International Competition in Treviso where he made his debut in two Mozart's operas: 'Cosi fan tutte' (Don Alfonso) and in Don Giovanni (Masetto). Soon after he began singing in the most important Italian, European and American theatres with conductors such as C. Abbado, G.A. Gavazzeni, M. W. Chung, A, Pappano, R. Chailly, G. Solti, A. Zedda, C. Davis, R. Muti, G.L. Gelmetti and B. Haitink. He has made recordings for Deutsche Grammophon, Sony Classical, Phillips and Ricordi. He has sung in Rome, Trieste, Venice, Bologna, Genova, Ferrara, the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Pesaro, Covent Garden, Paris Opera Bastille, the Metropolitan Opera House in New York, the Salzburg Festival, Staatsoper Bonn, the Susein Concert in Tokyo and the Sanderwin Concert. From 1997 to 2001, he will sing in Rome, La Scala, Teatro Comunale in Bologna, in Paris, at La Monnaie in Brussels, Salzburg, Vienna, the MET, the Memorial Opera in San Francisco, etc, in such operas as. 'Don Giovanni','Nozze di Figaro', 'Così fan Tutte' , 'Don Sebastiano', 'Bohème', 'Trovatore', 'Macbeth', 'Semiramide', 'Barbiere di Siviglia' and 'Cenerentola' . |
