The german Soprano Cornelia Goetz – born in Waiblingen – gave her debut at the Metropolitan Opera House New York under the baton of James Levine as Queen Of The Night in Mozarts “MAGIC FLUTE” round the turn of the year of 2006/7. The artist was guest at many international Opera Houses as for example Staatsoper Hamburg, Semperoper Dresden, Opera House Zürich, the Glyndebourne Festival Opera and the Lyric Opera Chicago. Further Engagements brought her to Tokyo and Yokohama, to London, Edinbourgh, Marseille, Rom, Parma, Wien, Berlin, Stuttgart, Munich and Leipzig. With great success she was also guest at the Festival Aix-en Provence 2007 and performed the part of “Konstanze” in THE ABDUCTION FROM THE SERAGLIO by Mozart (conductor: Marc Minkowski / directors: Jérôme Deschamps / Macha Makeieff). During her international career Cornelia Goetz was performing under the baton of many well-known conductors – for example Giuseppe Sinopoli, James Lewine, Andrew Davis, Pierre Auguin, Philip Jordan, Yakov Kreizberg, Michael und Vladimir Jurowski, Sebastian Weigle, Julien Salemkour, Alfred Eschwé, Bertrand de Billy and Marc Piollet. Directors with international reputation as for example Harry Kupfer, Peter Konwitschny, Olivier Tambosi, Sebastian Baumgarten, August Everding, Hans Neuenfels und Andreas Homoki value the high presence on stage and mutability of Cornelia Goetz. The rich repertory of Cornelia Goetz includes the great Oratorios of the „old masters“ as well as the colorature repertory of Mozart (f.e. THE MAGIC FLUTE / Queen of the Night; DON GIOVANNI / Donna Anna; THE ABDUCTION FROM THE SERAGLIO / Konstanze, Blodne), the Italian parts (f.e. Verdi RIGOLETTO/Gilda; Puccini LA BOHEME / Musetta) and composers of the 20/21 century (f.e. Richard Strauss ARIADNE AUF NAXOS / Zerbinetta; B. A. Zimmermann DIE SOLDATEN / Marie). Cornelia Goetz studied at the university of Karlsruhe with Prof. Christiane Hampe, in Vienna with Ruthilde Boesch, at the famous Reinhardt Seminar as well as with Astrid Varnay, at the Opera Studio of the Bavarian State Opera Munich and with Martino Stamos Vogiatsis.
