· The Ukrainian tenor studied at the Kotjarevski-Conservatory of Charkov. From 1986 until 1996 he was soloist at the opera of Dnepropetrovsk. Since 1996 he is member of the Mariinsky Theatre St. Petersburg under Valery Gergiev.

· His repertoire includes especially the difficult spinto roles. He sings all the demanding Russian roles, such as Hermann in 'Pique Dame' and the leading roles in 'Mazeppa', 'Boris Godunov', 'Semyon Kotko', 'Eugen Onegin' etc. He sings important Wagner parts, such as Lohengrin, Parsifal and Siegmund. His Italian repertoire includes roles like Manrico, Radames, Don Carlo, Edgardo or Calaf.

· Viktor Lutsiuk is one of the leading Russian tenors of today. He sings the main parts at all the guest perfomances of the Mariinsky Theatre under Valery Gergiev all over the world.

· In 1999 he performed as Andrej in 'Mazeppa' at the Teatro alla Scala di Milano under Mstislav Rostropovich. With greatest attention by audience and critics he sang the title-role in 'Lohengrin' at the Ravenna-Festival and at the Baden-Baden Opera Festival. At the Salzburg Festival he performed in 'Khovanshchina' and in the title-role in 'Parsifal' in London. In Tel Aviv he sang Hermann in 'Pique Dame'.

· In 2000 he performed at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice in the title-role in 'Sadko'. At the Opernhaus Zurich he sang with huge success Hermann in a new production of 'Pique Dame' under Vladimir Fedoseyev. In summer he appeared in 'Khovanshchina', 'Semyon Kotko' and 'Mazeppa' at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and after that in the title-role in 'Don Carlo' at the Baden-Baden Opera Festival.

· In the season 2000/01 he made his debuts as Hoffmann in a new production of 'Les Contes d'Hoffmann' and as Siegmund in 'Die Walküre' at the Mariinsky Theatre. At the Opernhaus Zurich he performed as Pinkerton, Gabriele Adorno and Hermann and at the Teatro Regio Torino as Lohengrin. Under Valery Gergiev he appeared in the world premiere of "St. John's Passion" by Sofia Gubaidulina in Stuttgart, Berlin and Paris and with the San Francisco Symphony under Michael Tilson Thomas in concerts in San Francisco and at the Carnegie Hall New York. At the White Nights Festival in St. Petersburg he sang Calaf under Valery Gergiev. In summer 2001 he performed as Radames and Don Carlo in London. At the Salzburg Festival he sang Sergej in a new production of 'Lady Macbeth of Mzensk' (direction: Peter Mussbach) and at the Finnish National Opera Helsinki Siegmund in the Götz Friedrich 'Ring' production.

· For Philips Classics he recorded with ValeryGergiev Dimitry in 'Boris Godunov' in the original version, Andrej in 'Mazeppa' for CD and video and the title-role in Prokofiev's 'Semyon Kotko', for the Label Mondo Musica the title-role in 'Sadko' and for Haenssler "St. John's Passion".

· In the season 2001/02 he sang at the Opernhaus Zurich Andrej Khovansky in a new production of 'Khovanshchina' and again Hermann. In Rotterdam he performed as Sergej in 'Lady Macbeth of Mzensk'. He was heard as Pinkerton in Helsinki, as Radames at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, as Hermann in a new production of 'Pique Dame' under Vladimir Jurowski at the Teatro Comunale Bologna, in 'Khovanshchina' in Washington in concerts with Valery Gergiev in Hamburg, Rotterdam, Amsterdam and London and in a new production of 'The Maid of Orléans' at the Teatro Regio Torino. In autumn 2002 he sang a new production of "Khovanshchina' in Helsinki and 'Eine florentinische Tragödie' by Zemlinsky at the Grand Théâtre de Genève and at the komische Oper Berlin. At the Mariinsky Theatre he made his debut as Siegfried in 'Götterdämmerung'. Future plans include 'Pique Dame' in Geneva 'Don Carlo' in five acts in Helsinki, 'Khovanshchina' in Zurich, "Turandot" and "Pique Dame" in Hamburg, "Rusalka" in Tel Aviv, 'Pique Dame' at the Bayerische Staatsoper München and "Macbeth" and "Pique Dame" under Daniel Barenboim at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden.
