The German soprano Kirsten Blanck studied with Prof. Judith Beckmann at the Music Academie of Hamburg. She has been successful in a number of important singing contests including the 'Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin'. She became a member of the Lubeck Opera, the State Theatre of Saarbrücken and the Kiel Opera where she appeared as: Konstanze in 'Die Entführung aus dem Serail', Lucia in 'Lucia di Lammermoor', Zerbinetta in 'Ariadne auf Naxos', Königin der Nacht in 'Die Zauberflöte', Lulu in 'Lulu', Gilda in 'Rigoletto', Fiordiligi in 'Cosi fan tutte', Sophie in 'Der Rosenkavalier', Donna Anna in 'Don Giovanni' und Violetta in 'La Traviata'. Guest appearances with the role of Königin in der Nacht included important Opera Houses such as the German Opera Berlin, the Berlin State Opera, the Semperoper Dresden, the Hamburg State Opera, the Vienna State Opera, the Frankfurt Opera, the Essen Opera, the State Theatre Stuttgart, the Leipzig Opera, the State Opera Hannover, the Munich State Opera and on a tour of Japan with the Berlin State Opera. Further guest appearances include: Zerbinetta in 'Ariadne auf Naxos' at the German Opera Düsseldorf and at the Frankfurt Opera, Sophie Scholl in 'Die weisse Rose' at the Hamburg, Konstanze in 'Die Entführung aus dem Serail' at the Opera Houses of Munich, Hannover, Düsseldorf and Leipzig; futhermore she sang Gilda in 'Rigoletto' at the Operas of Wiesbaden and Hannover. Since summer 1998 the Artist sings Aminta in 'Die schweigsame Frau' at the Semperoper Dresden (Coproduction with the Vienna State Opera). In 1998 she made her debut at the Vienna State Opera as Königin der Nacht and in February 2000 she appeard at the same house as Sophie in 'Der Rosenkavalier'. With the same role she was invited to the Triest Opera in Nov. 99. The Bayreuth-Festival invited her for 'Parsifal' and the Teatro alla Scala, Milano invited her as Zerbinetta in 'Ariadne auf Naxos' under Giuseppe Sinopoli. Future engagements: Aminta in 'Die schweigsame Frau' at the Semperoper Dresden and at Den Jyske Opera Aarhus; Königin der Nacht in 'Die Zauberflöte' at the Semperoper Dresden, the Vienna State Opera and at the German Opera Berlin; Zerbinetta at at tour of Japan with the Vienna State Opera under Giuseppe Sinopoli.
