Italian tenor MARIO MALAGNINI, a graduate of Milan's Giuseppe Verdi Academy, won first prize in four international voice competitions : in 1983 "Tito Gobbi" at Bassano del Grappa (Italy), in 1984 "Enrico Caruso" at Milan , "Città di Enna" and "Belvedere" in Vienna (Austria). These wins enabled him to make his debut in 1984 in Milan as Corrado in Il corsaro by Giuseppe Verdi.@Since then, he has performed at many of the world's important music centers, including La Scala in Milan, the Arena of Verona, the Opera in Rome, the Teatro Comunale in Florence, the Fenice in Venice, London, New York, Paris, Vienna, San Francisco, Houston, Tokio, Berlin, Munich, Montecarlo, Hamburg, Bonn, Seul, Budapest, , Mosca, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Cologne under the conduction of orchestra conductors all over the world as Abbado, Muti, Sinopoli, Oren, Guadagno, Santi, Patanè. |
In summer 1999 he made his debut as Conte Danilo in La vedova allegra by Lehar at Verona's joining Cecilia Gasdia and Andrea Bocelli. |
Subsequently he met with personal success in Madama Butterfly at Nice and at Oslo, in Simon Boccanegra at Munich, in La Traviata at Bari and in La Traviata e in Aida at Arena of Verona in summer 2000. On October 2000 he made his debut at Opera Bastille in Paris and in Peking as Cavaradossi in Tosca by Puccini e on December 2000 he has acclaimed in Stiffelio by Verdi at Teatro "Verdi" in Trieste. @Future engagements include Luisa Miller at Palm Beach on February 2001, Carmen at Berlin and Munich, Madama Butterfly at Tokyo. Next summer he will be Radames in Aida at Arena of Verona.@Malagnnini's repertoire includes over 30 roles for the most part of Giuseppe Verdi.@ |
